Fire Station Report
We had a
wonderful Exhibition this time, it was the best we’ve had in a long time. On
the Thursday before at 3.15 I rec’d a phone call from Anne at the council to
say that the people that were supposed to go in hadn’t turned up so if I wanted
we could go in on Fri. But I had to let her know before 4pm to pick up the key.
As you can imagine it was a big rush to see if it was viable. I made some quick
phone calls to the people I had on my list, but if they came in early they had
to sit over the weekend as well as the following week. Several couldn’t do this
but I managed to get enough with Kerry & my paintings and it was a
successful few days. Tuesday came and we had to take down that Exhibition &
put up the new one. We had a great response and there were 27 Artists.
We sold 22
paintings 94 cards & 19 pieces of Jewellery, totalling $3045 a great
result. We actually covered our cost this time as we haven’t been and the Art
Society wears the loss as a service to our members. Out of the 27 Artists 15
sold works. They were Mary-Jane Burke, Margie Chown, Brenda Corea, Judi
Goodwin, Marilyn Hawkes, Barbara Hill, Cheryl Howlett, Krysia Macleod, Robyn
McMillan, Heather Netherclift, Peter Nolan, Maggie Paterson, Kerry Suttonberg,
Shirley Wall and Irene Wortley. Congratulations go to all these Artists
especially Barbara Hill as that’s her 1st sale.
Our next
Exhibition is 5th June and incorporates Queen’s Birthday long
weekend so hopefully will also be a good one. Please restrict the size of your
paintings as we are getting more Artists exhibiting and if you bring a large
painting it will be counted as your 3 as we are restricted with the room to
hang.
Looking
forward to seeing you on 5th June.
Happy painting. Heather.
